Professional News: Carlen Ruschoff

Carlen Ruschoff, Director Emerita, Libraries, is documenting historical events that have influenced the management and discovery of digital resources.

Ruschoff documented the overall outcomes and effects of the decisions that came out of the Library of Congress’s Bicentennial Conference on Bibliographic Control for the New Millennium: Confronting the Challenges of Networked Resources (2000) in  “Recalling the Library of Congress’s Bicentennial … 20 Years Later,” Technicalities, 40(1).  This conference opened the door to new collaborations with researchers, publishers and library service providers.

A more in depth look at the many ways that libraries publishers and library service providers  devised to manage and discover digital resources  will be published in 2020 titled “Confronting the Challenges of Networked Resources and the Web,” Catalogin g and Classification Quarterly.  https://doi.org/10.1080/01639374.2020.1712510
